What We’ve Been Up To
ShipChain and KeepTruckin announce partnership
We partnered with KeepTruckin, a leading fleet management platform for the trucking industry, in an effort to increase visibility across the board. Drivers currently using a KeepTruckin ELD will be able to automatically import route and shipment data into their ShipChain account and share the shipment data across the supply chain.
This also means that anyone with a KeepTruckin ELD will be able to access the ShipChain platform to add visibility to their shipments. And just for reference, that’s over 1,000,000 registered drivers, 250,000 trucks, and 50,000 for-hire carriers across the globe.

ShipChain releases new white paper
We hope you enjoyed our latest white paper, Private vs. Public Blockchain: Separating Fact From Fiction (if you haven’t checked it out yet, you can do so here). It’s the first of many, as we’re launching a new initiative to release one white paper per quarter. One of our biggest objectives this year, and in all years to come, is publishing quality educational content, especially considering how new blockchain still is to the industry. Education will undoubtedly be the driving force behind the oncoming blockchain revolution, and we are excited to see what the future holds!
CEO John Monarch joins UN/CEFACT as a supply chain expert
ShipChain CEO John Monarch was recently accepted as a Supply Chain Expert for The United Nations Center for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business (UN/CEFACT). UN/CEFACT is exploring blockchain use and pilot cases for traceability, including an initial exploration into the sourcing of textiles and cotton. John will be assisting in the process of scoping this out, and ShipChain is ready to provide its services to the UN and its pilot partners whenever we are called on.
ShipChain launches a new Final Mile solution- the Delivery Experience Manager
Over the past few years, we’ve dedicated ourselves to understanding the shipping and logistics industry. During that time, we’ve noticed a niche that is in serious need of more visibility– Final Mile delivery. And so, we decided to make the capabilities of our multi-functional visibility platform available as a new stand-alone Final Mile solution, the Delivery Experience Manager.
The Delivery Experience Manager will allow buyers, carriers, and shippers to track transports in real-time and verify delivery time, location, and quality of goods with every single shipment. The technology can be integrated into existing hardware or utilized via the ShipChain mobile app. It will optimize customer experience, empower the buyer by allowing them to change their address, schedule deliveries, and change other shipping criteria in addition to just viewing shipment information, and safeguard your business against any false claims.

ShipChain wins the Blockchain Innovation Award at #DataccioConnect Singapore
We are always so humbled to be recognized for our efforts, and our win at #DataccioConnect Singapore was no different. Being awarded the Blockchain Innovation Award further proves that our vision of a public, decentralized blockchain is the right one for the industry, and we will work tirelessly until we can make it a reality. And after winning the Business IT Innovation award at #DataccioConnect Dubai the year before, we look forward to seeing what the future holds in store for us.
ShipChain places in the Technology category of the 2019 Logistics Brief MVP Awards
Our goal is to make the ShipChain blog an educational space in which you can learn about blockchain, shipping, logistics, industry trends, or some combination of all 4. As such, we were extremely excited to learn that our piece, “Does Blockchain Have Limitations,” won 2nd place in the Technology category of the 2019 Logistics Brief MVP Awards. It is so important to us that you, our audience, find value in our content, and we will continue to prioritize that as we continue to grow and expand,
ShipChain featured in a report by the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Committee on trade and investment
ShipChain was recently featured in a report by the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Committee on Trade and Investment:
“Conclusion: ShipChain is a Blockchain platform that boosts transparency and trust in the global supply chain, thus reducing the incidence of inefficiencies and disputes. Shippers can now take advantage of combined supply chain management (SCM) and blockchain technologies to restore end to end visibility and trust. Given how expensive in-house solutions are not to mention issues with compatibility, a public blockchain such as ShipChain is proving to be one of the best solutions for end to end track and trace functionality.”

A Look At What’s To Come
ShipChain mainnet to launch
We are still on track for our planned Mainnet launch. Some final details and tests are being ironed out, and we plan on releasing a final validator payment guide prior to launch, with information on the tokens for payment, tokens required, and the remaining token pools. We will release more information on this come time for launch.
February 2020 was one of our strongest months for sales to date, and we are so excited for our newest customers to join the ShipChain ecosystem and reap the rewards of a truly decentralized blockchain platform. As we’ve always said, in order for blockchain to successfully transform the shipping and logistics industry, all players need to be using a public platform so that visibility is increased for all. The interest and excitement over our platform is a big step in the right direction for a blockchain revolution–more details to come soon!
More white papers
Be on the lookout for our next educational white paper in the first week of April 2020. We will explore challenges and opportunities in Final Mile deliveries, so stay tuned!
We aired our first webinar, The State of Technology in Food Supply Chains: Produce, on June 6th last year (haven’t listened yet? Check it out here). And we aired our second webinar, a two-part series that focuses on high-value and controlled substances supply chains, with an emphasis on cannabis and pharma, last fall. The webinar was titled The State of Technology in Controlled Substances and High-Value Supply Chains and was moderated by Eric Johnson, Technology Editor at JOC.
Now, we are pleased to announce that our third webinar will focus on oil and gas and how blockchain can play a key role in the industry. This webinar will air in Q2 2020 and will feature a few very noteworthy guests.
Stay tuned for more info about where and when this webinar will go live, and how you can sign up!
